RIP Djamila Ibrahim Olame

When I went on to Facebook this morning the first thing I noticed was the untimely demise of our dear World Pulse sister, Djamila Ibrahim Olame last night who is from Bukavu, DRC. Apparently one of her colleagues said that she was sick and passed away three days after being released from the hospital, but I don't know any other details of why she was taken away so early from us.

Djamila was a World Pulse Vocal Contributor, Encourager, Community Mentor, Changemaker, Featured Changemaker, and Ambassador. She was an integral community member since January 24, 2017 and has written numerous stories. I knew Djamila primarily through encouragement and through the mentoring program. She was very intelligent, driven, and dedicated to empowering women. One of the last communications I had with her last May on Facebook was her telling me she had "just realized [her] dream of creating [her] non-governmental organization "NGO" called Femmes Sans Frontières "FSF."

For those who want to know and learn more about Djamila and her work, this is her World Pulse profile: https://www.worldpulse.org/profile/djamila-ibrahim-olame-507769b2-0a76-47d8-a1ff-e4f76aedc981?tab=1

I hope her young daughter, husband, colleagues, friends, and family keep her memory alive and that she lives on in their hearts.

Rest in peace, dear one. xx
