Self love... Self Care...empowers you to succeed

I have encountered people who label self care and self love as being selfish. What most people who have this mindset don't understand is that, if one doesn't love and appreciate who he/she is, how would he/she have the capacity to love others?

Can people who always find fault with themselves see the good in others?

They will be clouded with bitterness, anger, hatred which hinders their capacity to show love and genuine appreciate to other persons.

I encountered one gifted lady in one of my women forums while working in Accra Ghana years back. Initially, looking at her you wouldn't know she had so much talents because her carriage, sad moodiness, withdrawn attitude during our meetings were always glaring.

When a speaker in the meeting makes jokes that sends all of us cracking, this lady would just be blank, frowning, and i kept monitoring her.

One day, afte our meetings, she went to grab some refreshments on our coffee table and as always, she would be the last to go to the table when others has left.

So that day, i decide to meet her as she was there undecided if to drink tea or coffee still wearing that ugly frown on her face.

I said to her- Hey Sis...how did you find the meeting today? She turned at me with a fake smile and said- As always Jackie. I said- as always? Was it uplifting? Are there things you would love to discuss with me privately?

For the first time, i saw a relief with a little smile on her face and she stammered....and said- Actually Jackie... Can i book a special appointment on another day to talk about this?

LORD....i was so damn happy she asked and didn't even think twice before saying- Sure Sis....why not? Just let me know when you can and i will clear my damn table for you...😃

Immediately she laughed and said- Jackie you are so funny...!! I will and thank you for caring to reach out to me...

I said to myself- So this lady can laugh so beautifully like this ? Waohhh...
