Showing Up Is So Easy To Do

Like a family showing up for each other...a mom feeding her baby, a son cooking for his mom, his mom planting a fruit orchard with her son for their family, a baby cooing in learning how to talk, and a dog with love for them all. Family shows up for family. We are all related. World Pulse is a family of women and girls showing up for each other. I love my World Pulse family!

Showing up is often the most we can do to support the good works of others. Showing up for each other here in World Pulse when we are invited and able is part of what weaves the fun, the joy, the surprise, the delight. Accelerating women in leadership is going to take us showing up for each other. At the current pace, it will take 300 years for women to reach equality. Let's go girls! We can accelerate this.

For 15 years I've been producing TEDx's. What's a TEDx? It's Technology, Entertainment, and Design event. TEDx is a global social movement of in-person and online events spreading worthy ideas. I love it! Working with so many fascinating people who are contributors, researchers, thinkers, doers, influencers, and supporters is a joy. Learning about new ideas, how to be a better communicator continuously, and refining our swiftest path from respectful responses for activating what next can be done is a dreamy way to walk through life. I feel truly privileged. This weekend TEDxVail will feature amazing speakers and performers online. Participants might meet other changemakers, discuss the ideas just presented, and perhaps even accelerate their own projects. Finding places to mingle and support is the way I've been organically and slowly taking one step at a time to share what I can with whoever shows up. Inner Resonance and Outer Climate Peace is an online Xperience I offer tomorrow for those who are seeking peace and inner calm in a time of immense and rapid change in our places. I believe climate is an inside game. What is the relationship from our head to our hearts, through our wombs, and ultimately our voices and hands? I believe that the way we live and respond to things in Earth's living systems has everything to do with our inner relationship with ourselves. So within, so without. So we begin this weekend with the inside, making it easy, gracious, and gentle to hear bold TEDxVail climate solutions. Let's take care of ourselves before the holiday chaos ramps up. We can celebrate activating outer ideas together.

The toughest part is reaching people who will not only sign up but will prioritize good news, solutions, and people showing up. Spreading the word is honestly the most challenging part of being a TEDx organizer. So if you are reading this, please consider showing up to do your part for building women leaders. That measures how much attendees enjoyed their TEDxVail Xperience. The first one I thought was a fluke. The second one I was affirmed. For the third time, I say let's get this Xperience to more women! We must be doing something right. We boldly have been using virtual platforms to rapidly accelerate and amplify as many ideas as we have bandwidth to volunteer our free time to produce and share these with those who show up. When others do not show up...go with what you've got. I heard long ago from a very wise woman, "Have What You Have." That's the secret to happiness. I rarely give up. I give it everything I have until a natural conclusion arrives. It may take a bit longer to process what worked and did not, but keep going. We must phase out oil, coal, gas to have a planet that is naturally returned to being in balance as much as possible given the amount of pollution we have put in our atmosphere, the species we have lost in our biosphere, and the broken relations among humans, especially with indigenous who protect the 80% of biodiversity remaining for their ways of living, eating from the land and sea, gathering in community. Former Vice President Al Gore revealed this week Climate Trace using satellites to identify precisely where and how much and who is generating the worst methane pollution in over 352 million spots in Earth. Fossil fuelers, Xtractors, miners, and industrialists can no longer hide. Neither can we. The vast amount of wealth and governmental subsidies fossil fuelers get can only be faced with the outsized number of humans demanding clean air to breathe and water to drink. Vote for politicians who are voting for climate solutions. Climate is everyone's problem in our everyday lives. It affects how we eat, move, shelter, buy and make things. I believe this is our S.T.A.R. moment (Something They'll Always Remember moment.) Let's make S.T.A.R.s out of our moments together. If we show up for each other, we may belong to each other claiming our finer futures clearly, with greater ease, grace, and gentleness.
