Strange Oath of Secrecy

An adage in my place says, a man who uses his cap to kill an elephant can only be famous for a day because the following day, he will discover that people will flee at his presence, saying look at the wicked herbalist you better take to your heels before he lands his cap on your head.

This is the exact case that is happening in Ogun State Western Nigeria now, naked lawmaker taking blood oath of secrecy. Oath of secrecy is no longer strange but allegation of swearing nude is strange, well educated men reducing themselves to herbalist because of Oil money! Ritualistic oath taking should not be condoned but when it involves money our leaders can go to any extent.

The Ogun State governor denied the allegation , and accused the lawmaker of misinforming the public and embarking on a calculated campaign to tarnish his image, but the Governor’s Special adviser on Physically Challenged Affairs said it is part of Political life in Ogun State, but he declined to accent to that because he is now a devout Christian.

My mother says, though I cannot read or write but I can recognize my father in a photograph. Pictures are displayed in newspaper, and in responding to this Fred Agbaje, a Nigerian legal luminary in a radio interview said all because of stealing money, covetousness, and lack of fear of God. All because of “do not tell”, this is not the first time this is happening in Nigeria. It is no longer new but strange.
