Sweet Land Africa

My name is Lizzie Badenhorst the eldest of three sisters and big family.
I live in the big City called Johannesburg, Gauteng in South- Africa.
I will never forget growing up as a little girl and teenager how we as a family every Christmas would be so excited driving threw the streets in to town just to feel the Christmas spirit the , Christmas carols , lights and music , so sad that my son and nephews never be able to have that beutiful memory . It is no longer there the spirit died in that city a part we can never carry over we have been ropped just a memory. Then back to the Township Western to me it was home we had a big family house and we had these long streets and all the kids would play together , there was no electricity back then , candles , lamps , that is how we lived and survided as far as i can recall we were a close community . Then it hit
they started to build us new houses in the same Township moving us out as families into the new houses much smaller with electrity a bathroom that was the only up grade to most of us , once again we were ropped by land . They moved in people from outside who never lived in the Towsnship before and sold these houses to them while most of us live with more then ten people as a family in a house . The new name of the Township is named Westbury EXT3. To me and many of us were the forgotten . Crime have become a lifestyle , Our youth is lost and what ever was build have been destroyed by the community could be , anger ,hurt bitter, frustration they see no direction no way out.i have hope for me the commnunity and our Youth they need us .
