Taking the lead

It has not always been easy for women to take lead in the community. I have had my proposal rejected by a mentor simply because I was young then. My proposal was on how I can end period poverty and guide the girls in rural areas on how to access SRHR services and teach them on triple threat of new HIV infections, teenage pregnancy and sexual gender based violence. No one is ready to give a young woman that chance maybe hold your hand in implementation of something that will help and empower women. Women tend to listen to fellow women. Power should be shifted to allowing women help women irregardless of age,race or religion. No woman deserves to be denied a chance of trial because they have ideas but are young.
