The Closed Gates Of Silence Have Been Opened Wide!

Web 2.0 is the answer to the prison of silence in which I have been languishing in,since I became an adult woman. I have grown to lose the freedom I once had when I was a kid, the freedom to express myself or question someone whom I found aggressive. I most often have the impression, I am being punished for choosing to be a woman, it becomes more painful when I recall that I never choose to be one after all. At least I can share the experiences that hurt me and question the phenomenon that beats my imagination without being stigmatized for speaking. I can also tell heart throbbing problems faced by other women in my community without restraints. Web 2.0 is an opportunity for me to read the experiences of other women and be encouraged, if many have gone through worst or similar difficulties like me then I too can make it.
There are thousands of women out there in different parts of the world, with an answer to my desperation and that of the women in my community. Web 2.0 is the route to our connection. It is a lubricant to the engine of the global women`s empowerment movement. Who knows ,maybe my quest for survival could spur another woman or another person`s story could change my view of life. It is so painful to realize that freedom of expression is supposed to be a fundamental human right in all parts of the world yet almost every woman has unpublished and unspoken chapters of her plight ,known only to her heart beats, World pulse to me is a publication of the heart beats of women worldwide.
I believe through sharing our aims and aspirations, a final and a lasting solution could one day be born from this fascinating group of women. The adage that says ‘’a problem shared is a problem solved’’, is quite apt in this context. I see web 2.0 as a rope that has been extended to a drowning person in a deep well. I know what it means to be denied access to better education because one accepted womanhood, or be denied to right the apply for a good job because one is a wife, be battered and asked to remain silent because one is a woman. With web 2.0, I can tell these stories and more and not be regarded as a bad woman who cannot keep quiet, but would gain lasting solutions and not sympathy.

I am confident this is a sure path to the liberation of thousands of feminine destinies that have been chained in a pit of tradition and customs by friendly enemies. If God gave me the capacity to lead, then I should be allowed to lead, if he gave the capacity to speak, then I should be able to voice out my opinions, If he gave me a sharp intellect then I should be digging the pages left by sages ,so I could develop my ideas more constructively to contribute my own quota in making the world a better place. I dream of a tomorrow that takes into consideration the sweat and the tears of women, when world policies shall be embellished by the brilliance of feminine wisdom, when men and women shall see each other as veritable partners for development and not competitors in the selfish game of chauvinism. Web 2.0 is a platform for change in this direction
