THE GIRL-CHILD AS AN ENDANGERED SPECIE FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

The Girl-Child is the future of Nigeria attaining the Sustaining Development Goals yet she is still confronted with issues which includes but not limited to Rape, Early Marriage, Female Genital Mutilation, Human Trafficking and Kidnappings from School. It is unfathomable that in a bid to get an Education which is the bedrock of any normal  society, Girls have been kidnapped from schools swimmingly as  seen in the kidnap of  250 Girls from the Government Secondary School Chibok Borno State, 110 from the Science Secondary School Dapchi Yobe State of which 15 year old Leah Sharibu is still in Custody with recent  media reports of Girls still being kidnapped from school. Girl-Force Unscripted and Unstoppable 2019 theme of Day of the Girl-Child can only be achievable when Government put in place sustainable mechanisms which drive development as well as protecting the Girl-Child and providing her with access to unlimited opportunities to not only enable her control her future but meaningfully contribute to National Development.
