The inspiration to my journey

Being an orphan and going through a lot was like hell to me and I thought all was gone but having sisters who gave me listening ears made me feel so proud and courageous. So proud because all my life I had no one to call me by name and I was always called that witch or that thing which makes me feel so miserable, frustrated and not belonging. All this happened when I was living with my anuty i.e. my mom's elder sister. She made me see life in a different perspective.

_ she refused sending me to school that I am not intelligent and that she is going to send only her children to school.

_ she told me to go do prostitution so I can bring money and support the house with food.

_ The piece of land which my mom left in her care, she sold it and she claimed that she paid a loan she took from the bank to send her son abroad which the son ended up not going anywhere.

_ I used to help her fry fish roll and puff_puff but the day I got an accident with the oil, she didn't send me to the hospital and all she say was that it was due to my carelessness. When one mama heard it, she told me to go to the church and explain to the priest what happened and that maybe he can help. When I met the priest, he helped me and treated the burns.

After that I left her house and was staying with a friend were I now happened to see this Ghanaian man (Mr Adu) who had a computer institute and cried for help and he helped me and I  study the computer in his computer lab and from there I had a job, paid my fees and pick up my life.

Since my passion was to help the vulnerable and needys, I prayed and ask God to show me the way, give me the strength and give me the means to help others since I don't like seeing others suffering the same faith.  when I started this community mobilization, during discussion almost all the stories I got was like mine.

With all these negligent from relatives, family members, the government and the socio political crisis in Cameroon these girls are liable to be victims of rape, sexual harassment and GBV. With all these, they are forced to enter into prostitution to make ends meet.

After having the news of be an ambassador, I was overwhelmed and I was like waoh!!! So I am now up to the level of an ambassador and immediately I share the joyful mystery with my brother the pastor and he was so happy and said move on girl God is your pilot and keep up with the good work.

With all the encouragement and inspiration from my sisters I decided to reinforce my ability to work not only in my community and to others too. I will also call for work shops to educate and create awareness so that they shouldn't be left in the dark.

I used to go to the community and link fifteen (15) clients per week i.e. sixty (60) per month. From the 27th of last month till date, I have linked thirty two (32) clients.

How do I facilitate my work?

I print a form with carriers the following information.

_ My information.

_ Clients information

_ And that of the midwife.

This helps me to know the number of client I have linked.

How lovely it is to be a community worker and to make others voices heard.

permit me share this song of joy to my world pulse family.

My voice I raise it up to you.

My strength depends on you world pulse,

Because I know without you I can not make it on my own,

My voice I raise it up to you.

You are my strength

You are my inspiration

 You are my strength

That's why I raise my voice to you.
