The Role of Haitian Women's Organizations?

I was recently directed to this group by a friend and am looking for some advice and suggestions.

I am currently writing my master's thesis on the role of women in the post-earthquake reconstruction process and am looking for contacts who have first-hand knowledge of this and would be willing to speak with me. More specifically, I am building on the political and cultural history of women and women's organizations in Haiti and am looking at the role that women and women's organizations have played in supporting community resilency following the earthquake.

I am looking to identify several key organizations and to understand their role prior to the shock, their response to the shock, and how, if at all, these organizations have shifted their functions and mandate in the past year.

I am hoping that this work can help to highlight some of the stories that are hidden in the shadows and can encourage development organizations to think carefully about how to best support women in development.

Any personal anecdotes or leads on contacts to organizations or key actors would be much appreciated.

In solidarity,
Anya
