The Role of Innovation for Improving Our Lives

Story
I have done a great deal of reading over the last few days about the role of innovation improving performance.
Over the years, watching as people have found solutions to problems confronting them by doing things differently than customs dictated, perhaps tweaking a process to improve the outcome, bringing in extra income or making work more efficient has been exciting for me.
Most people will agree that, "innovations need to judged on the basis of their contributions to improvements in efficiency, effectiveness, quality or outcomes"
I wanted to write about that today, and provide a link to where funds are available for implementing innovative projects.

The Humanitarian Innovation Fund supports organisations and individuals to identify, nurture and share innovative solutions to the challenges facing operational agencies in the delivery of effective humanitarian aid.
In order to achieve this, the Humanitarian Innovation Fund will work towards:
- Enabling humanitarian innovators to move creative ideas through the innovation process;
- Supporting them in building new partnerships with key actors;
- Enabling the lessons from grant funded projects and from analysis of innovation processes in humanitarian contexts to be disseminated more widely;
- Strengthening existing relationships between humanitarian agencies, academics and those in the private sector engaged in innovation processes.
