Thieves give residents sleepless nights

One day I woke up to some terrifying news about some daring robbers who had pounced on Number One shops in Kingsdale, Bulawayo. This was the second time that the shop had been robbed and the news shocked me because I was sure that these thieves were local people and that unless they were arrested, no one was safe. .
Electrical gadgets and other goods were stolen from the shop.
This is not an isolated incident in Kingsdale. Several homes have been robbed by armed people. As a community member, I blame the state of the economy. Young people are failing to get employment and they end up engaging in criminal activities.
Robbers often pounce during the night, taking advantage of the long hours of darkness due to electricity blackouts. It is now terrifying to walk about late in the evening because if the criminal meet you they can take everything you have and even kill you. Some women have been raped by these criminals. Women are more vulnerable to the attacks than men.
