SHE TURNED HER PASSION INTO A SOCIAL ENTEPRISE

Anna Malewezi has a Human Resource and Business Management background, with expertise in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Talent Acquisition, international labor relations, Payroll management and also People and culture management. She has 8 years of experience in Human Resource Management and Administration, additionally She has 5 years experience in Sales and Marketing where she provides her skills and ability to plan and lead departmental operations with innovative culture. She serves as a Human Resources Manager at a full time employment in  hospitality industry at Latitude 13 Degrees Hotel.

She is a holder of Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Business Management from the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton (Kenya) and Master in Business Administration in Human Resources Management from DMI St Eugene University (Zambia).Anna is the Managing Director of AG Malaika  which was introduced with an aim of contributing to the improvement of young people’s lives through skill based education in response to youth unemployment and poverty in Malawi. She provides vocational skills trainings under AG Malaika Skills Hub-Malawi and Events decoration and Interior Decoration services under Stems & Mor’ Malawi. AG Malaika Businesses have been in operation since 2017 and have expanded to online selling of  home improvement and interior decoration  accessories which are  imported and others are self made from used up wood after decoration services. She sells event decoration items to other existing decorators who have difficulties in accessing these items locally.

 AG Malaika partnered with Dzuka hub in 2019 where they empowered startup entrepreneurs in Blantyre with a program of inspiring and motivating startups called Startup Grind-Blantyre, she also partnered with ECAM by giving the youth opportunities to work from their premises in Blantyre in order to have experience before they engage with other institutions. They have trained over 1000 young people and women in skills like fashion designing and tailoring, Events decoration, Baking and cake decoration and Hairdressing and cosmetology where many lives have improved through the skills shared. When COVID-19 hit the nation They closed down in Blantyre and have started afresh in Lilongwe with two courses Events decoration and Baking and cake decoration where they offer one on one and virtual trainings.

In 2020, Anna successfully completed the Dream Builder program under the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs' 1st Cohort and in the same year she completed a program under Feminist Macroeconomics Academy (FEMA). Anna was also among the finalist in the young entrepreneurs program under Total energies start upper of the year 2019.She also participated in Growth Accelerator training, Orbis Expedition workshops where she got mentorships on how to run her business.

 Her dream is to impact as many single mothers all around the world
