Growing up in a developing country like Egypt where there are a lot of challenges in the life conditions urged me to get acquainted with terms like development and rights. Rights, there are lots of rights preached by lots of organizations, among them was the UN organizations, the most recognized entity with so many eloquent phrases. The same phrases which crumbles against any real situation. However, the crumbling will be masqueraded with a sensational speech on more rights along with several photogenic personnel in the field.

I was ex-UNESCO staff where a sensational event happened to me UNESCO an organization specialized in culture and education. This where according to the sales strategy, the mind shifts happened. Although, I am not writing here on the short coming of UN entities which are also well recognized among the one who are familiar with them, the point I am making is considering health and administration. The health of a woman working in UN organization.

The UNESCO Cairo office is considered to be located in a construction site where there are no nearby services. It is in the desert where the roads are not to the office are still under construction. The highly esteemed organization which advocates "rights" did not include the health of its staff in case of emergencies.

On one working day during my pregnancy, I suffered from a severe abdominal pain which turned to be an emergency later on. My family happened to be in the same city where they were the ones who actually managed the situation. An emergency in a country with insufficient health care is absolutely distressing. In addition to the miscarriage, i had a serious internal bleeding and fallopian tube rupture.

The office did not have any emergency toolkit, there was no residency physician or any other protocols. However, there were protocols on the diplomatic pose for the "rights" photo-shoot. The wise administration did not consider any health strategies in case of any emergency happened in a construction site office.

However, just a week before the incident, both the head of the security in the office and head of administration were re-distributing the staff on the offices for a more organized or maybe efficient way. They even relocated a colleague from the office I was in. The same administration head was the one who ordered to remove the emergency toolkit out of office. The head of security did not include any of the strategies or techniques to deal with health emergency for it is not security-related, perhaps.

I wanted to file a complaint against specific individuals in the office which I think contributed to this incident especially if any of the staff is susceptible for emergencies not to mention pregnant women. First, I communicated with the ethics unit where they clearly stated this is out of the unit mandate but there was another unit. The unit tackles any administrative malfunctions. This unit responded to my emails after almost one month of communication for the vacations taken by its staff. I initiated my communication with the ethics in January 2024 then the administrative conduct in February. For the administrative negligence I was subjected to, there was no email received from the administrative conduct unit since then. I tried to report this administrative negligence but there was no official unit to address this.

I understood the true meaning and representation of the rights in all speeches beautifully sounded in diplomatic events.

I have heard the speeches and seen them in acts.

So perhaps, there could be more attentive speeches and material on women and health, if sensational ones, I am in
