UNBROKEN SPIRITS PHYSICAL LAUNCH

On May 4th, I celebrated not only my birthday, but also the physical launch of the Unbroken Spirits Program that saw over 300 people attend from all walks of life! There were survivors in the room who had the courage to openly share their stories! There were advocates who are passionate about advocating for survivors of Childhood Sexual Trauma! There were even members of the local law enforcement who made a pledge to take cases of child sexual assault with the weight and seriousness they deserve! There were members of the local government in attendance! There were community religious leaders in the room! There were counsellors and therapists in the room!

The overall turnout of changemakers was overwhelming! We heard stories from across the globe from Survivors in the United States to South Africa, to Europe and those from the community who showed up to the event unafraid! The lid has been opened on the topic of child sexual exploitation within the community and what used to be a taboo subject is now being openly discussed in churches and policy making tables!

I am excited to see the change that will happen in my community from this point onwards!
