VOF: Assignment 4 "A Work of Art"

VOF: Assignment 4
“A Work of Art”

As I like to introduce myself in all of my writings, my name is Ivaldete, I am 41 years old, I have four children and seven beautiful grandchildren. I am an artist and I live in a favela in Rio de Janeiro.
The vision I have for the world now is very different than the vision I had previously before I matured alongside my life.

When I think about my visions for the world and for my life, I genuinely feel that I am already living a part of it, not just in a dream, but in the reality of World Pulse. I am able to look into the world and recognize so much better the work of all of the women who fight to be recognized and to make a better life for themselves than the one they have now. In my vision we have a world without discrimination or preconception and with moral stability. I see a future world where the word is as dominant for women as is the role they have in the family.

I remain very impressed with World Pulse because it has given me a way to express myself with words to the world. We can speak various languages and dialects and sincerely speak with and for everyone who has the impulse to show and fight for their ideas. Stories of women who don’t have an owner, and whose work in the world has yet to be recognized, these life stories are already a work of art.

To be able to speak or even better, to represent World Pulse and to have the opportunity to speak on behalf of all the women who don’t have the chance to scream for the world that “Yes, we exist!”, would be a tremendous honor.

We are all important artists, just as the artists that are featured in magazines and in the media.
I have the strong impulse to shout out to society to not close your eyes, or clamp your ears, or turn your back on women of different colors and on women living in poverty. These women also have to be seen and need the opportunity to show their work and tell the story of their life. Most of the time these stories will land somewhere in the same way that mine has landed at World Pulse. It is my hope that the stories that have yet to land or find a doorway for their voice will know that they can do so at World Pulse.

This opportunity has endless worth for me. Thank you for listening.
