VOF Week 1: (Web 2.0 and Global Communication)

I am 57 years old, and my life has found me alone and on my own. I have accomplished so many things, and I am very proud of each and every one of them, yet here I am, tossed away, by those I love and cared for. I just want a chance to be heard, a chance to say those things you gain only by wisdom, and really knowing what unconditional love is. I look forward to knowing all that I can...and helping, all that I can. :)

What most excites me about Web 2.0 is the opportunity to get involved with other women from all over the world through a program that gives us the ability to communicate about the world we live in, and the world around us. I think it is a great way to show the world that women have a voice to go along with our bright minds. That we can through the ability to network, help one another through problems we may be individually facing, no matter where we are. A network to pass along information is a step into global activism.

The solutions Web 2.0 brings to the global women's empowerment movement are endless. We each have our separate abilities to apply a solution to any problem that another one of our sisters may have. We can give ideas, share solutions, impart wisdom and gain friendship. We can indeed make the world smaller, because through Web 2.0 we are only words away from one another. We are no longer separated by space and governments, but together at the flip of a switch and we are in participatory communication.

Web 2.0 is empowering me to share thoughts, ideas, and solutions to any problem the group is faced with. It empowers me to feel that I can have a say about so many things that I could never have had the chance to say any other way. There really is no other mode of doing so, as far as I know. I find this is a ground floor, ground breaking program, to be an advantage for myself and all others involved to join forces and create a more global platform for communication. Thank you Web 2.0.
