VOF week 2(I was thisty)

During my journey in life, since i was young even though i came from a home that love radiate despite the fact that my parent were illiterate i have been fighting the cause of women. We were living in a very big compound where there were about eight different families living together. My father had only one wife who is my mother, even though he had several concubines he never maltreated my mother. The other family we were living together one of them had two wives and others had three, four wives. Infact the other men always made jest of of my father for having only one wife. In these other families fighting was the other of the day, there had never been a day in our compound that there won't be one fight or the other. It might be a husband beating the wife or the wives beating each other in competition for their husband and i remember vividly that there were occasions after such fight the woman would be hospitalized for days. As young as i was then i was always in the side of the women that they don't deserve those treatment that were given them. Even though i could not insult those men outrightly because respecting elders is a must in my society, i always gave them the piece of my mind like telling them this is not good, you have to stop this, this is wrong and so on.At times i would be beating for being so vocal but it doesn't stop me form talking next time. When i gew up and was in the secondary and higher institution, i got the nick name South Africa for my fighting on behalf of girls in the school. I first work as a secondary school teacher, I worked in several schools where i was noted for my liberation of women instinct and so when i got this my present job in the university and i had access to internet the first thing i was looking for was a women organisation i could join on the net to be able to air my view concerning women across the world and when i came acrossAWID, i said yes this is it. It was through AWID that i knew about voices of our future and that was how i grab the opportunity. It is like somebody that was thirsty before and you now give her water.
This programme fit into my personal vision because i know by the time we raise our voices together policies that will alleviate the suffering of women would be instituted in all the countries of the world . It may look enomous God be on our side because He is always on the side of the oppressed we will achieve this,.
