Web 2.0 is living and breathing...allows you to share, comment, network, to me Web 2.0 is “human”.

Web 2.0 brings connection , sharing and networking possibilities to the global women empowerment movement. The opportunity for women to share stories, success and challenges faced enabling peer learning and identifying best practices.

Currently I am working on a project that is building a digital community of women professionals in STEM and young women and girls interested and pursuing Science, Technology , Engineering and Mathematics studies and careers. The online platform which has been in existence since January 2013.
Women who Mentor and Innovate Africa – WMIAfrica, is an online network for women by women in Africa that seeks to provide access to information, role models and experience and skill sharing in STEM opportunities. The platform showcases and celebrates the achievements of women in STEM across Africa and provides resources such as opportunities in STEM, jobs and scholarships are posted on the platform.
Initiatives and programs that provide the much needed support to women in STEM, as well as training and mentorship platforms will go a long way to increase the number of girls actively participating in STEM subjects and taking up STEM careers.

The platform utilizes blogging, Facebook , twitter and YouTube to provide access to information, role models and experience and skill sharing in STEM opportunities.
