"How can the children dream if their stomachs are empty?" was the thought that haunted me until the answer came to me one evening. My journey started from wanting to end hunger, to supporting legacy non-profits.

Fueled by my entrepreneurial background, I tried to create a small team of dreamers on a mission to rekindle the spirit of bayanihan through philanthropy—changing the way we see giving.

Bayanihan is a unique Filipino culture where communities band together for the good of their neighbors without expecting anything in return.

In the Philippines, nonprofits are unsung heroes, fighting for the voiceless and working endless hours often sacrificing their own resources just to make a difference. Many of these nonprofits have a solid theory of change and a great track record, but often lack the resources needed to truly make lasting and exponential impact. That's where we come in.

Dreambucket is an alternative fundraising nonprofit on a mission to help legacy nonprofits grow to help address pressing societal and environmental challenges in the Philippines.

We do that by focusing on alternative fundraising and digital marketing, areas where many non-profits struggle. The goal is to help these organizations secure the necessary resources to fulfill their missions and expand their impact.

in 2019, we were able to feed more than 500 children in underserved communities in Davao City and even sponsor the Davao Rugby Team (Sports development club for SOS Children's Village).

In 2023, we were able to raise $22,285.44 GBP in a span of three months for the lone Steiner-Waldorf school, Tuburan Institute in Mindanao which is home to 83 school children. This meant ensuring the school’s continuity for another full school year.

Currently, we are running two fundraising campaigns with a total goal of raising $76,332.78 GBP by the end of April this year. The first campaign is a call to save a school that supports equal access education, home to 63 children and their families, from closing its doors definitely.

The second campaign is a call for relief and sustenance for the 3,804 internally displaced people of Mawab and Maco in Davao de Oro who have faced heavy rains and landslides that have destroyed their mountain community, leaving many hungry and homeless.

Dreambucket supports a variety of legacy nonprofits, including the Sisidlan Institute, Tuburan Institute, Philippine Permaculture Association, Art Relief Mobile Kitchen, and Davao Durian Rugby Club. Each playing a vital role in their respective areas of impact, from education and food sustainability to disaster relief and sports development.

Giving belongs to everyone. And when we give, it’s not “giving away”, it’s giving back.

Giving back to nature, to the planet, the people and the animals that have one way or another nurtured us to be the people we are today. And when we act now, we are choosing to create the change we want to see in the world.

We may not see the change we desire in our lifetime but perhaps, the generations to come will. Isn’t that kind of change worth fighting for?
