WHAT BEING A CHANGEMAKER MEANS TO ME

The opportunity to make a difference in someones life started with me making a difference in my own

You cant pour from an empty cup so getting to a place of understanding that my challenge could fuel change was the frist step

For many years my early life felt uninspiring, confusing and I was unsure of myself, I was filled with fear, we lived a very sheltered life, but that didnt provide the guidance and support I needed to truly protect me from the realities of a real world so I made a few bad choices blinded by deception disguised as friendships

Even as a child my love for reading was my escape to a happy place, whhen a church in my community started a library I was frist to join, and looked forward to going there, reading expanded my mind and I would throw in a word or two at I learnt in my compositions, it helped my creative writing, my language and understanding.

Reading built a desire in me to write my own stories, and to one day write my own book

I wrote beautiful poems that would earn me top marks, but as I grew up I loved mostly reading about history and human stories, stories that provided, motivation and inspiration. Stories that were testaments of peoples triumps through struggles to achievement

Theres power in storytelling, it birthed, books, newspapers, artforms, hollywood movies, and even this platform that we know today as this amazing safe space World Pulse

Storytelling is life, storytelling can give ones voice power, it can bring release as well as healing. It can bring transformation.

I was privileged to host my part one of my contribution to our REG initiative #Shift The Power /Amplifying Voices Project, using storytelling as the tool to amiplify the voices of a community of women that need to shift the power that not sharing their stories have on them, the power of the abuse, the childhood trauma, the loss of the Job, the financial loss, the loss of self.

They are yet to experience the power, the healing, the realease, amplifying ones voice can bring and the realization that theres a digital community that can provide that safe space for them amoung thousands globally who do so and even without consistent access to data or the ability to navigate the digital space, theres a way we can bridge that gap

In the coming months I will continue from where my frist pilot project left off, it was a beautiful start and I know it was executed just as God wanted it, every thing worked together for a great outcome..
