What is Ailing My Country

I have searched for an answer but I am left with a dark and clouded mind as I feel I can do somethings while at the same time I feel helpless. I am a proud tax payer. I do this directly through statutory deductions and indirectly through value added tax on goods. I have grown not to feel the pinch of this because I love development. It has taught me over time that this is the best way to go. A give and take that equates global development.

Is there a deeper hole within the government where the money sinks and can't be welled out? Is it really too deep that the money disappears? Only some that survive can be used in making my country to be this beautiful. I believe it can be much more beautiful! Who is this government after all? Does it only mean leadership within the legislative, judiciary and the executive arm of the government? Where do I squeeze myself to be within these three structure? I am part of my government because I have learn to adhere to products of legislative arm. I have consistently contributed through taxes to ensure that resources are put where they should be.

It is said that my country ails from a cancer called corruption. While it's terminal, I refute claims that it is going to kill my beloved country. The sentence has not yet been passed and I believe it will not. Integrity has been partially robed from the citizens and the country leadership and as such accountability has turned out to be an act that no one wishes to identify with. Worriors of transparency have been pushed to the dark rooms and gagged with death threats. Some have vanished with no traces while some have been silenced by psychological immobilisation.

Where do you get your strength from, I ask the tireless watchdogs that have survived the test of time. They have shielded the sharp machetes and survived the slain. Their resilience have endured the deadly acts and encouraged them more to refuse to go mum but die for their mother landed. What strategies have you used to fight for your nations transparency ? Is it the international allies who sympathise with you to the core for your patriotic deeds? Is it your investments in what you love most that makes you convert your mourning into victory that has made you cease to view your life as the greatest investment? I marvel at your courage which I am also told that it is actually not absence of fear but remaining couragious despite the outcome.

Do these people come from a certain family circle that care deeply for their lived on? Where do you draw your strengths to continue supporting family members who have chosen to die for their nations. These are wounds that do not actually heal but rather remain as deeply inscribed scars that continue to be celebrated till the end of times. Their stories are heard from generations to generations. Their descendants marvel at them and naming of not only new generations but also a nations assets that symbolise pride is done in their honour. Their celebration is not only after death but start many years before they salute life in honour of their well lived lives.

I celebrate my nation for the diversity and high level of tolerance I see, feel and depict within my inner soul for the great people the almighty creator has given to each one of us. I have learnt and continue learning how much it takes to appreciate people around the globe. The indescribable unifying effects that cannot be fathomed. East or west, from the north to the south pole I can tolerate, love and hug all those from the extremities of the compass. I love my nation, I cry for it when she cries, I marvel for it when she marvels, I laugh with it when she laughs. I no longer see it as a nation but as a magnified continent, as a magnified globe, as a microscopic village, as a microscopic county and as a microscopic family. Indescribable indeed!

All its chronic ailments are treatable and can be healed and history can only be told about it in the coming decades. Aluta continua is the spirit adopted to the healing process that the nation has decided to take to restore it. While corruption might not be the only plaque; ethnicity, poverty, civil active and inactive war also ails it, not forgetting the huge percentage of youth who have not been engaged in positive constructive and productive activities which makes us to be in a tickling time bomb for socioeconomic explosion. I decide to heal with my country.
