Why is Early Pregnancies Among Girls Skyrocketing?

Greetings from this side of the world my fellow women. Glad we have this platform where we as women are able to raise our voice.

When Corona Virus pandemic covered the whole world with a dark cloud, everyone was saddened by the ordeal that befell us.

Here in my country Uganda, we didn't only get challenged by the pandemic but also something strange and shocking has caught us by surprise.

Since the lockdown forced students to get back home from school, the first shock came when our neighbor found out that her two daughters one 13 years and the other 16 years were both found pregnant since they were staying home alone while their mother would go for work.

Now from the research that has been carried out, it has shown that over 1519 girls below the age of 19 years have gone to different hospitals in the country for antenatal, this was the most shocking discovery and caught the country by surprise, and more so we believe that some girls that didn't go to hospital were not recorded.

This gathered information and the rate at which the girl child's life has been messed up in my country is so devastating. I have come to realize that there is a need of sex education and also empower these girls.

As a woman who would like to see women of difference in my community, I have decided to share this ordeal with you for any possible solution that can be given  or what can be done to overcome this challenge.

I am worried because we have entered a second lockdown and my fear is that what happened in the first lockdown may reappear.

I will welcome any form of solution and aid that may be given to save these wonderful flowers of the world and I surely believe that together we can make every woman's life an oasis of joy.
