Why This Particular Subject?

On Thursday 20 September 2018 we had a coaching clinic at Gold Class College in a high density surburb of Harare, Zimbabwe called Highfield. Here we were discussing Forms of Abuse and ways of protecting oneself from it with 13-16 year old boys and girls.

Whenever (as an organisation) we enter a new school or community to speak to children we always start with this particular subject. We understand that by nature children are particularly vulnerable to all types of abuse because of their dependence on adults among others. It is therefore our responsibility as adults to help prevent child abuse and teach our children about it. To teach children effectively, adults should be well informed about the complex impact of abuse on children and other key facts. Whatever advice or instructions are given to children, they must be grounded in honest explanation and a good knowledge of the facts.
