For years the global community continues to forget that women and girls live in the Caribbean much to the surprise of many the Caribbean is filled with women and girls whose rights are taken away, they are violated and they are economically deprived. Yet the outside world continues to look at the Caribbean as a place of happiness where no evil reigns. Women bleed here, they go hungry, they miss opportunities because of poverty and hunger and economic lack.

My plea is for the women and girls from the Caribbean be not forgotten for we are also human who endure pain and abuse every day.
