Women's Development Coalition

We are incredibly excited to have obtained the preliminary approval of the Stanford Center for Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law for a joint initiative between its Program on Liberation Technology and its Program on Human Rights. We'll soon be inviting groups and individuals who work to educate women in science, math, and technology - especially abused, trafficked, and economically underprivileged women - to the University (and to dial in via video chat) to share their expertise, methods, and feedback. In the end, we hope to develop a model curriculum that all groups can use and translate to local cultures to help get women trained in computer science and web design. Economic power is the first step toward political power!

Many thanks to my amazing partner Laura Hackney (@LHack47) who spearheaded our advocacy for this initiative with Stanford. The Program on Human Rights is lucky to have her, as is AnnieCannons!
