Would she agree to talk on politics? My Reflections

Would she agree to talk on politics? My Reflections

  1. My first concern was how do I protect my interviewee as well as represent her voice in my interview. Most of the time when women are interviewed gender stereotypes are either consciously or unconsciously represented. This was one of my concerns.

  2. I allowed my interviewee to choose the location and time for the interview. I informed her that I was writing the stories of local women leaders and she was one of those I had in mind. This gave her confident. I am also known as a journalist and a women’s rights activist and there was trust that I would represent her voice with all fairness. I allowed her to feel relaxed and I started with the soft questions to put her at ease.

  3. Next time I would try to management my time within my busy schedules as much as possible to complete the assignment and allow time for feedback on it. Imagine today is the Muslim New year and I had to take it as an opportunity to compile my assignment.
