I cant tell you how many times I ve undefined

imagined this announcement in my head

We are Open.πŸŽŠπŸŽŠπŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸΎπŸΈ

My imagination would run wild, it would be with much pump and ceremony, there would be brightly colored balloons, ribbon cutting, live recordings, media, gay happy chatter, my friends would be there, my fellow entrepreneurs, we would toast to the achievement of a dream come through for me

But noooo, there was non of that, this next step, this accomplishment came silently, no I didnt get the funding I ve applied for over and over for the last 3 years, no I wasnt chosen for the grant, but God provided in the form of someone deciding to invest in my dream because they believed in me

And for that I am so grateful, I have waited,I have invested in myself and thankful that someone else thinks Im worth it.

And just like that the wheels began to turn, this was the time, and everything began to fall into place.

As a Caribbean Sustainable Fashion Designer, The desire to have a space to retail my Brand burned within, a space in which my collections made from natural and organic fibers, with labels carrying my logo and brand story are creatively displayed to capture the eyes of my clients

August 15th 2024 I achieved a milestone and this is but one piece of the bigger plan, I have shared my vision here of creating employment opportunities for stay at home mums, with an operation that includes the production of banana to utilise every aspect of it, from the fruits to the fibers, from food to luxurious fabrics and accessories, the store a hub for our retail sales.

I live in a country, where unemployment is high amoung single moms in vulnerable communities as they dont have access to free babysitting services, and so they are either forced to do self employment where babies are put in inappropriate situations or just depend on minimal social grants and handout s

Its my hope that this venture would eventually fund and create opportunities to support other aspects of my vision

While I wait on the wheels of democracy to slowly turn, im putting in the work, I have presented my proposal to Governent Ministers and those in positions to assist with response s out if courtesy but nothing more. I truly believe being female plays a part in the non support.

But I am not detered, I have shared this lovely space with fellow fierce female entrepreneurs who create amazing lines of organic beauty produts, jewellery and handmade bags and accessories

The beauty products and naturally scented oils and candles add pleasant aromas of Jasmin, coffee lavender and other herbs and fruits that have been blended to create these organic products, their professional packaging only helps to add amazing value, and serve as enticement urging the eager shopper t step into our cute Caribbean Hub

This is a huge step for me, in this present economic environment doing a business has its challenges, but I m trusting God to lead me every step of the way, putting into practice the Degree and countless training certificates for this part if the business

Im sharing to encourage someone, dont let your circumstances hinder you from pursuing your goals

Waiting for things to be perfect to take thst next big step, wont see you starting anytime soon, it may be pursuing that degree, starting an NGO, a Business, Becoming a Community Mentor, Fitness Journey or just Travelling to see another part of the world.

Whatever it is go for it undefined
