A Special Day of the Girl Message

Image is a purple background with text that reads "Happy International Day of the Girl!" with a World Pulse logo. There is an illustration of five women's hands embracing.

This Day of the Girl, World Pulse members have a message for young girls everywhere.

Last month, World Pulse asked you to share your stories in celebration of Day of the Girl — and the response was astounding! We received more than 170 stories from members across 32 countries. The message is clear: as a community, you are committed to bestowing a better future to the next generation of leaders.

Here are three ways to Celebrate Day of the Girl with us :

1. Watch (and share!) a special video message from World Pulse members

We’re thrilled to release a special video message for young girls everywhere. This letter was crafted from lines shared in stories posted on World Pulse. Thank you to Abebi, Boluwatife, and Jefiter of Nigeria; Kas of India; Milena of Colombia; Natasha (Megsmueller) of South Africa; and Purity of Kenya, for lending your voice to this powerful video letter!

2. Congratulate the Story Award winners

Congratulations to the five Story Awards winners who received recognition for their powerful contributions to this call for stories. Read their stories and be sure to leave a comment of congratulations! (We only wish we could award everyone!)

3. Keep the activity going - check out the Girls Hub and leave encouraging comments.

While the 2023 Day of the Girl call for stories is now closed, the Girl Power Hub is always open. Explore the Hub to see the flurry of activity and to keep the conversation going. Share your letters, your stories, and your initiatives. Let's continue to work toward a world where every girl knows her power.

What’s next?

We’ll be announcing a new opportunity to collectively speak out and be recognized for your leadership later this week! Stay tuned.
