From 14th -15th April 2023, Haki Nawiri Afrika in collaboration with Indigenous Women and Girls Network and Koibatek Ogiek Women and Youth Network organised a training on agroecology. The objectives of the training were :To build the capacity of community members on sustainable production and consumption through the adoption of agroecological practices and to identify and document local knowledge on food production. The training was further aimed at enhancing experiential learning among food producers from varied agroecological zones (Machakos and Baringo). The overall goal of the initiative was to enhance Indigenous Peoples (IPs) resilience during the crisis of climate and food.
The initiative worked with the Ogiek forest dwelling community and the Endorois community.
