EMBRACE THE WEB

If we want to improve ourselves, we have no choice than to embrace the web and educate others to achieve same. They may not recognize the need on their own, but I will plot the way.
I know women are very busy but we need to find time to browse. We can put hours in at weekends and evenings if necessary. Let us do whatever it takes because ultimately it will make our jobs more enjoyable and fulfilling. From cooking, home tendering, childcare, attending to our husbands needs, excelling in our career etc. All these and many more are available if we embrace the web for information.
We can have access to international and local speakers, internal blogs; newsletters, workshops, training, and videos of all sorts that can help us achieve more and fulfill our purpose.
I don’t only use the web; I engage others by sensitizing them on what they can achieve with the web. When I give assignments to members of staff or children, they know that I expect them to source information from the web. I don’t require only local knowledge; I want to compete with international higher standards too.
One of the best ways of educating others is to include them in what you do. We have a habit of implementing projects alone. However, it doesn’t need to be that way.
It can be enlightening for my colleagues when they see me create time out of my very busy schedule to interact with our website and that of others. Best of all, it helps improve the site too!
Interacting with the web has helped me to become more competitive, increase sales and develop new markets, reduce costs and become more efficient, use technology more effectively and to respond more quickly to innovations in my work sector.
There are also several business tools I make use of via the web. These include; benchmarking, forecasting, financial planning, strategic planning, performance monitoring.
With the use of the web, I have been able to improve myself, my influence, my skills, my business, my weaknesses, my strength, my organisation; name it.
I remember that a class teacher, I always won the most innovative teacher in my school yearly. This was so because I always accessed the web. I source for the children's craft, literacy and numeracy worksheets, bible stories, pictures for classroom decoration and lots more from the web.
Myself and my organisation have gained alot of publicity because of our on-line presence. i get invites to speak at conference, participate in local and national seminars etc. if not for the web, I'm not sure we will be so visible. Embrace the web and be a better you.
