The quote above was birthed in my heart on Monday and I thought to share it with you.Β 


Striving for excellence in everything you do is crucial for achieving success and gaining a leadership position. However, once you have reached that position, it is equally important to have good people management skills in order to maintain your leadership status.Β 


Being able to effectively communicate, motivate, and inspire those around you is essential for building strong relationships and fostering a positive work environment.Β

I love excellence. I love results and I am one person that makes sure we get the job done. I’m just like that. I never really fancied the whole people management thing because I believed every team exists just to get the job done which was wrong... π‘‘π‘œ π‘ π‘œπ‘šπ‘’ 𝑒π‘₯𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑑.Β 


But when I started leading people, I got to realize that it is not always about getting the job done and being that leader that has results. It is more about building your team members up. Being there for each of them. Being emphatic and supportive. Showing them that you truly care about their well-being and not just projects.


It is all about understanding each person's temperament and knowing how to manage them properly. It is understanding that you don't talk to Mr. A like you'd talk to Mr. B. It is about being concerned about their own lives and their purpose not only yours.


Ultimately, it is the combination of excellence and people management skills that will truly set you apart as a successful leader.Β
